There are many products and techniques for cleaning tile and grout. Here are some easy ways to clean tile and grout stains.

If there’s one place in your home that causes a lot of anguish to keep clean, it’s probably the grout in your tiles or the tiles themselves. This is especially true if you have tiles in your bathtub or shower. There have been many products developed over the years to help with such problems, and yet good old-fashioned elbow grease is usually still needed.
Easy Ways to Clean Tile and Grout Stains
Here are some easy ways to deal with tile and grout stains as well as my recommendations for products but I find work amazing for this.
Clean up spills immediately
The best way to prevent a stain from forming is to not allow it to set. No matter what you spill on your tile counter, or tile floor make sure you clean it up as soon as soon as possible or at least as soon as you discover the mess.
Try powdered oxygen bleach alternative
I think this is almost the very best thing that you can buy to clean your tile with. It’s usually sold under the name OxiClean. Sometimes you can find OxiClean at the dollar stores. If you have colored grout, test the OxiClean on a small portion of your tile in a discreet location to make sure it doesn’t discolor your grout.
Invest in a power brush
For extra tough stains, you might need some elbow grease. Make things even easier on yourself by purchasing in a power brush. These brushes use battery power to do the scrubbing for you.
Consider steam cleaning
Sometimes, the stains are just really stuck in. A steam cleaner can be a great tool for loosening up deep-rooted stains. You don’t have to spend a lot of money for a steam cleaner either, as many of them are very reasonably priced. This is a good choice if you have a lot of tile to clean such as a room or large foyer.
Use hydrogen peroxide for some stains
Stains like blood, are often very hard to remove. Just like with clothing, hydrogen peroxide can usually take these out. Almost any stain that is organic in nature will brighten when you use hydrogen peroxide. If the stain is on the counter or floor, simply pour a little bit on top, allow it to bubble, and then wipe away. If the stain is on a tiled wall, soak a rag in hydrogen peroxide and apply it to the stain. If you have colored grout, test the hydrogen peroxide on a small portion of your tile in a discreet location to make sure it doesn’t discolor your grout.
Toilet bowl cleaner can also work wonders
There are some brands of toilet bowl cleaner that are gel-like inconsistency. These toilet bowl Cleaners work well to clean the grout of your tiled areas. just simply apply in a solid line, wait for a little bit, and clean with a towel or rag. Toilet bowl cleaners usually contain bleach, so once again if you have colored grout, test the toilet bowl cleaner on a small portion of your tile in a discreet location to make sure it doesn’t discolor your grout.
Use diluted bleach
In our tips for how to clean grout we include tips on diluting bleach using a ration of 1 part bleach to 4 parts water. This can also be used to clean stains on tile and grout. Don’t use bleach on colored grout.
Buy a grout pen to restore whiteness
If after all the scrubbing and tricks here do not get your grout as white as you would like it, consider getting a grout pen to restore the whiteness in your grout. A grout pen is simply a pen that essentially adds whiteness back in the form of a type of paint. Grout pens are a good alternative to ripping up tile and starting all over.
Never Mix Cleaners!
A word of caution- NEVER mix cleaners. If you find one cleaner did not do the trick, completely rinse the area and dry it before trying another. Mixing cleaners can create deadly gases.
